Singing should be for everyone.

ChoirBLAST brings the joy of singing to those who can't access it.

Creating accessible community choirs across Surrey, for the people music has too often left behind.

Free for members to attend.

A charity bringing free, professionally-led community choirs to children, to people living with physical health challenges, and to people facing mental health and wellbeing challenges, the people least likely to have the chance to sing.

ChoirBLAST is a registered charity (no. 1210483) in Godalming, Surrey

The charity runs accessible community choirs for those most in need, and hosts the UK's biggest non-competitive choir festival.

They are brighter in that singing session than they are throughout the rest of the week, and it's something they look forward to.

Accessible community choirs, for the people who really need them.

Singing together is one of the best things you can do for your wellbeing. But the people who would gain the most from it are often the least able to access it. That is exactly who ChoirBLAST is for.

Introducing the community choirs, with one core belief. That group singing is a powerful form of therapy.

We run free community choirs across Surrey, every week. With plenty more communities waiting for us to reach them.

Accessible community choirs (and the power of singing) for three groups

children, including those in schools with little music provision

people living with physical disabilities, such as MS and epilepsy

people living with mental health and wellbeing challenges.

We bring our choirs into the heart of these communities, taking live music and a warm, welcoming session into schools, care homes and community spaces, so there is no cost and no barrier to taking part.

Every session uses Makaton signing alongside singing, so everyone can join in from the very first moment.

Looking to add ChoirBLAST to your community?

We are looking to partner with more communities and charities to make singing accessible to those who need it so please do contact us if you’d feel your community fits the ChoirBLAST ethos.

Singing together is good for your health. Genuinely.

This is not a slogan, it is well documented science. Group singing releases the body's natural mood-lifters, lowers stress, helps with breathing, and creates a sense of connection very little else can match.

And it works whether you sing beautifully or simply make a joyful noise. What matters is showing up.

The Samson Singers keeps me socially included and gets me out. The singing helps with my breathing and it's a good giggle!

ChoirBLAST Festival, an annual celebration of group singing

Once a year, all of this comes together at the ChoirBLAST Festival in Godalming. Our own community choirs share the stage with choirs from across the UK and globally, at the country's biggest non-competitive event for contemporary choirs. Free to attend, free to perform, and built so every choir is celebrated, never judged.

Help us reach someone who would otherwise go without

Everything we do is free for the people we work with. That is only possible because of the people who support us. Your support reaches the person who cannot come to a choir, so the choir can come to them.
