Community choirs across Surrey for schools, care settings and community groups.
ChoirBLAST runs accessible community choirs, free for the people who would otherwise have no other way to take part. We bring our choirs into the heart of communities, taking a trained choir leader, live music and a warm, accessible session directly to your school, care home or community space.
Every session is genuinely free, for the people taking part and for the organisations we work alongside. Every session uses Makaton signing, so no one is left out. And every session is built on a simple belief: anyone can sing, and singing together changes something.
Accessible community choirs (and the power of singing) for three groups
children, including those in schools with little music provision
people living with physical disabilities, such as MS and epilepsy
people living with mental health and wellbeing challenges.
We bring our choirs into the heart of these communities, taking live music and a warm, welcoming session into schools, care homes and community spaces, so there is no cost and no barrier to taking part.
Every session uses Makaton signing alongside singing, so everyone can join in from the very first moment.
Our current community choirs
We currently work with 6 local organisations and schools. We are always looking for more communities to join us.

Encore Oakleaf
A choir for people living with mental health and wellbeing challenges at Oakleaf
In partnership with Oakleaf Mental Health Charity in Guildford, Surrey.

Group singing is a well-evidenced, non-clinical way to ease isolation and lift mood.

Supporting the halow project
We make a financial donation to the halow project, which runs its own choir sessions for young people with learning disabilities. We do not run these sessions ourselves, but we are proud to support work that shares our belief.

Request a free ChoirBLAST choir for your community
If you work with a school, care setting or community group that would benefit from an accessible choir (free for it's members) and the power of singing as therapy, we would love to talk. We bring everything, it costs you nothing, and we tailor every session to whoever is in the room.
