ChoirBLAST Festival 2026: A Celebration of Singing, Community and Connection

What a weekend!

This year’s ChoirBLAST Festival welcomed more than 100 choirs across 14 unique stages throughout Godalming, creating a vibrant celebration of singing that filled the town with music, colour and community spirit.

From intimate acoustic spaces to our largest powered stages, every venue offered something different.

Whether performing to a handful of listeners in a quiet corner or entertaining a packed audience on a major stage, every choir played an important part in the festival. Great care goes into matching choirs with the right performance spaces, ensuring that every ensemble has the opportunity to shine.

Alongside the music, visitors enjoyed our biggest and most diverse range of food and craft traders to date. From familiar favourites to flavours from around the world, festivalgoers had the chance to discover new tastes as well as new musical experiences. The craft stalls were busier than ever, creating a lively festival atmosphere across the town.

Once again, the weather gods smiled upon us. Blue skies, warm sunshine and a gentle breeze set the scene as ChoirBLAST’s signature rainbow streamers and ribbons danced overhead. After several years of remarkable weather, we are beginning to suspect that our booking system extends beyond stages and marquees!

The festival welcomed a wonderful mix of seasoned performers and first-time participants. Established choirs shared stages with newly formed groups, while children’s choirs brought energy, enthusiasm and plenty of proud family supporters. One of the defining features of ChoirBLAST has always been its welcoming atmosphere, and it was wonderful to see singers of all ages and experience levels sharing the same celebration.

We were particularly proud to welcome an increased number of ChoirBLAST Charity choirs this year. These community choirs represent the heart of our charitable mission: bringing people together through singing, particularly those who may benefit most from connection, confidence and belonging.

Their performances showcased the impact of the charity’s work throughout the year and served as a powerful reminder of what festival fundraising helps to support.

Behind the scenes, dedicated warm-up spaces provided choirs with opportunities to prepare, connect and settle nerves before performances. Across the town, local businesses enjoyed what many describe as one of the busiest trading days of the year. Judging by the smiles on the faces of shopkeepers, café owners and hospitality staff, the combination of thousands of singers and enthusiastic audiences continues to be a winning formula.

Festival merchandise also proved popular, with T-shirts, tote bags, tea towels and badges finding their way into homes across the country. If you missed out on the day, selected merchandise is still available.

As daylight faded, the festival atmosphere took on a different energy. Evening performances gave singers and audiences the chance to relax, make new friends and enjoy some truly memorable performances. Special mention must go to Bloom Choir, whose spectacular closing set on the Field

Stage transformed the final evening into something few expected from a choir performance. Complete with glow sticks, lighting effects and an infectious energy that had the crowd singing, dancing and celebrating together, they brought ChoirBLAST 2026 to an unforgettable close.

We were delighted to receive positive feedback on a number of improvements introduced this year, including our wheelchair viewing platform, improved accessible toilet provision and increased waste and recycling facilities.

Most of all, thank you for helping us create another festival filled with music, friendship and community.
