Something Wonderful at the Samson Centre

Updated: 4 days ago

Something wonderful has begun at the Samson Centre for MS – the birth of a brand-new community choir, proudly funded by ChoirBLAST and fully sponsored by a generous local business. Just a few weeks ago, voices joined together for the very first time under the joyful direction of Phoebe Gaydon, filling the room with Emeli Sandé’s Wonder and a spirit of shared hope.

For members of the Samson Centre, who live daily with the challenges of Multiple Sclerosis, singing offers far more than music. It boosts oxygen flow, relaxes muscles, and releases the feel-good hormones dopamine and oxytocin – nature’s own medicine for body and soul. Singing also strengthens muscle tone, improves posture, and encourages deep, controlled breathing – all of which can be particularly beneficial for those with MS. Group singing can even reduce pain perception and strengthen the immune system, while nurturing confidence and connection.

This is what your fundraising has achieved. This is why we are so committed to bringing group singing into our communities – because when people come together to sing, they find strength, belonging, and joy. The Samson Singers is living proof of the difference we can make together.

Thank you to everyone who donates, volunteers, and supports ChoirBLAST – this is your impact.
